We regret to inform you that we had to close down our Club Mistral & Skyriders Center at Hotel Sinai Stars. This is due to supply problems of water and electricity at the Hotel, as the Sinai Stars surprisingly did not open as expected on the 1st March as in previous years. We are not able to take any windsurf bookings at all. We recommend that all guests use the lagoon in front of the Hotel Green where we have our second center. They will take care of all kite services.

The Spot at Ras Sudr
The Spot at Ras Sudr is divided into two areas. Kitesurfers can choose between shallow water in the huge lagoon directly in front of the center at the Green Sudr Hotel, or the open sea, and both spots are connected downwind at the upper end.
In front of the hotel there is a huge lagoon which offers perfect flat water conditions for kitesurfing (depending upon the tide). As the lagoons have almost no water during high tide kitesurfing is limited to 4 hours, and at low tide you have to use the open sea. The beach is only about 10 minutes walk from the center.

The long stretch of coast literally takes a windward bow in front of the station and stretches over a distance of 1km in the form of a sand bank further and further out to sea, before it returns to the land. This characteristic has two advantages. Firstly: in this area the wind blows unhindered and side shore over the wide sandy beach without gusts or swirls. Secondly: flat water with a slight to medium chop invites pure freeride and freestyle fun. A third advantage is a shallow water area (depending upon the tide), which reaches 100m into the sea.

Stones or corals are scarcely found here, and a rescue boat is assigned to this area. To keep the quality of the spot we have limited the maximum quantity of guests.

Wind and Waves
The north to north east wind blows sideshore to side-offshore and increases during the morning hours until it reaches a peak in the afternoon. In the late afternoon the wind normally calms down again. Due to a moderate breeze and flat water, the morning hours offer perfect conditions for beginners.

The Center
Our center in front of the Green Ras Sudr Hotel is located in front of a huge lagoon with shallow flat water, and the constant wind enables a perfect learning environment. The beach in front of the center offers enough space for safely launching and landing the kite, even though the spac is limited.

Kids
Ras Sudr offers very good conditions for teaching kids. The water is warm, very clean and flat, making this place really good to teach kids and beginners. There is also an area of 150m of shallow water which makes the teaching areas very safe.
