General information on Tarifa:
For those who can already do a beach start or more, Tarifa is an ideal instruction venue. Beginners encountering the strong winds (Levante) or waves typical of spring and autumn here in Tarifa will not always find conditions so easy. The best time for instruction is May to October. Tarifa is perfect for all those who want to learn the water start or improve skills already achieved. A wide variety of windsurf conditions can be exploited to the full here. It makes no difference whether the Levante or the Poniente is blowing - both offer suitable conditions.

Spot at Valdevaqueros Center:
Our center here is at the safest part of the spot and we can hold advanced courses even when the wind is strong. This sandy beach offers the right conditions for beginners, too. From April to October, we offer the whole Unlimited Instruction Programme: Starter, Progress and Unlimited Premium (2 units of 2 hrs per day on 5 selectable days). Private tuition is available on request.

1 p.m. - advanced
4 p.m. - experts

Spot at the Hurricane center:
The Unlimited Premium is not available at the Hurricane center.  We offer Unlimited Starter, Progress and private lessons. The spot is suitable for windsurfers who have already reached water-start level, as there may be some rocky patches near the beach.

4 p.m. – experts

Wind:
In summer, the prevailing wind is the Levante (side-offshore), which comes from the east, while autumn and spring are mainly dominated by the Poniente (sideshore to side-onshore), which hails from the west.
