The spot in Djerba
As the wind in Djerba is not very strong, the spot is perfectly suitable for windsurfing beginners and intermediates, as well as kitesurfers of all levels and catamaran sailors. A shallow water area, between 20-50 metres (depending upon the tide), allows easy launching. The spot is split up, with  the section directly in front of the center intended for windsurfers and catamaran sailors, and a designated zone further downwind reserved for kitesurfing tuition. Next to this zone there is ample space for advanced kitesurfers.

Wind and waves
During summer the wind blows only moderately but constantly from the east (cross-onshore from the right), thus making Djerba a very safe spot for everyone. On days with stronger winds and waves, windsurfing beginners are confronted with more difficult conditions. The best time for beginners is definitely in the summer months between June and September. For kitesurfing tuition a second spot can be used which is a shallow water lagoon, thus making Djerba a perfect all-year learning environment for kitesurfing beginners. In spring and autumn, the wind blows with 4-6 Beaufort creating a small swell – a lot of fun for advanced windsurfers and kitesurfers.

The center
The Club Mistral center is located in front of the Radisson Blue Hotel, in the northern part of the island. As the hotel offers an excellent kids club, families can spend a perfect water sports vacation here. Moreover you can find a large and clean hotel beach directly in front of it. Next to it is the public beach, which offers ample space for first kite flying attempts. Our Center is equipped with warm water showers and a chill out area to relax. We offer rental and tuition for both windsurfers, kitesurfers and catamaran sailors. As the wind is not too strong in Djerba, catamaran sailing is a great alternative. New is our second, smaller Skyriders center which is located at the kite lagoon. This one we use as a storage place to let you always have the right equipment on hand.

Kids
Kids are more than welcome in Djerba as the spot offers great conditions for kids instruction during the summer months. In winter time, the conditions can be too rough for instruction.
