The spot in Datca
The Club Mistral Center and the Flow Datca Surf & Beach Club Hotel are located 7 kilometres away from Datca village. The vast bay of Datca is particularly suitable for slalom and freestyle windsurfers. Due to the cross-offshore wind, there are no big waves; the water is rather flat and, depending on the wind force, riddled with choppy waves. The bay of Datca is almost enclosed by the Greek island Simi, which is located about 10 kilometres off the coast of Datca. It would be a little bit overconfident to regard this fact as a safety factor, but in case something happens, it is almost impossible to drift past Simi. There is only one restricted shallow water area, as the water soon becomes very deep. In spring and autumn, unusual wind directions can create more challenging and wavy conditions.

Wind and waves
The wind conditions in Datca are among the best and steadiest in Turkey. Here, the wind is said to be even too strong sometimes. Before the end of our first season we can't tell whether the wind conditions are similar to Karpathos, although the main wind direction is the same – cross-offshore. However, here the wind blows from the right. As is the case with every offshore wind, it is very gusty on the coast. There are, however, no noteworthy buildings on the shore which would make it harder for windsurfers to start with small boards. After 200 metres the wind can unfold its strength to its full extent. Flat water near the shore and choppy waves further outside offer an ideal playground for slalom and freestyle pilots.

The center
The new Club Mistral Center is located directly on the beach about 100 metres away from the hotel. As the sand/shingle beach is only 15 metres wide, the distance to the water is quite short. The center is equipped with all necessary amenities and a large shop and an integrated beach bar are planned for the last construction phase.
