The Spot in Cabarete
The variety of the spot is truly unique. Flat and choppy water on one hand, and swell and shore break on the other, leave nothing to wish for. Kiters and windsurfers cannot get in each others way, as the kitesurfing zone and the windsurfing spot are separated. Cabarate is the ideal location for those who like diversion, no matter whether you are windsurfer, kitesufer or surfer. The numerous possibilities and the comprehensive excursion program ensures that you will never get bored. Cabarete has so much to offer and is also an interesting destination for families.

Wind and Waves
The wind is modest in the morning and gains strength at midday under the influence of the trade wind. The best wind conditions are in January–March and June–September. The offshore reef is about 600 metres off the beach and the flat water stretching inbetween is all that slalom enthusiasts could wish for. From May–October the wind blows mainly sideshore from the right at 4-5 Beaufort. From November–April it mainly blows cross-offshore from the right and is less constant, but instead wave freaks can ride down waves up to 4 metres high. At this time, the conditions are perfect for intermediate wave riders and wave freaks. Upwind of the center there is a shallow water section where beginners and intermediates feel comfortable and the tuition conditions are excellent. Beginners and intermediates can practice close to the shore while more experienced windsurfers can conquer the waves on the reef. Thanks to the mobile kitesurfing school it is always possible to choose the perfect spot depending upon the wind and wave conditions as well as your individual needs. In this way we can guarantee ultimate fun for kitesurfers of all levels. Surfing is regarded as a great alternative for all windsurfers and kitesurfers, and Cabarete has always been a hot surfing spot. The beginners spot, where the waves break on a sand bank, is only 5 minutes away from the center. The shallow water allows you to easily walk through the waves. Directly in front of the Velero Beach Hotel is a spot suitable for intermediates. On top of that, we offer tuition for all levels.

The Center
The center is situated upwind in the bay of Cabarete, which is a good 2km in width and in January 2009 the center moved into a new location! The new perfect set-up is situated 200 meters further downwind from the old location in the center of Cabarete bay. Now the center is at the 'Plaza Carib Wind' together with Lazer Training Center, EZE Bar & Restaurant and Carib Wind Surfshop.

The center is beneath shady palm trees and offers a cosy chill out area overlooking the ocean. It's only 50 metres from the shore in a wind-protected area, thus allowing windsurfers to start directly from the center. In this part of the bay the shorebreak is less strong making it easier to go in and out of the water. You are perfectly safe, as the spot is protected by a closed end of the bay and one of the Club Mistral team members always keeps a watchful eye on you. In case there is an emergency we use our life boat.

Kids
Cabarete offers safe conditions to teach kids. The sandbank, located just a few meters upwind from our center is ideal. The small reef belt behind the sandbank creates a little lagoon with flat water and no shore break. Especially in the summer months we have ideal conditions for kids.
