A perfect and safe spot for everyone! No matter whether you want to practice beach and water starts, gybes or freestyle moves, in El Yaque beginners and intermediates will find ideal conditions for making progress in windsurfing. A 300m long shallow area offers great teaching conditions. The excellent wind combined with the swell guarantee that all advanced windsurfers will get their money’s worth. Freestyle acrobats will find stunning conditions on Isla Margarita and will be pampered with the latest high-quality material on the market. The freestyle windsurfing pros Ricardo Campello, Cheo Diaz and Gollito Estredo are all from El Yaque and you can admire them live on the water - always a great show and a lot of fun to watch so many great freestylers on the water.

Wind and waves
In El Yaque you will find a spot that probably boasts the highest number of windy days in the world, and on top of that the spot definitely has the highest wind guarantee from December until May. In the summer months the wind is less strong. During winter it blows with a force of 3-5 Beaufort in the morning and after mid-day thermal conditions intensify the trade wind to a force of about 4-7 Beaufort. The spot itself is over 1 km long and with a steady sidehore wind from the left it really is the perfect all-round venue.

The center
The Club Mistral center is located in the El Yaque Paradise Hotel on the 1 km long, palm-fringed beach of El Yaque. It is only a few metres to the beach and onto your board. Directly next to the center and in the hotel itself you will find a restaurant and a beach bar where you can have lunch or relax after a hard windsurfing day, whilst enjoying the sunset with a Cuba Libre or fruit cocktail. In our Skyriders schools of El Yaque (only 100 metres from the center in the garden of the Jump'n Jibe Hotel) and also on Coche Island in front of the Coche Paradise Hotel (only 25 minutes by boat), kitesurfing lessons with professional teachers are available.

Kids
El Yaque is a great place for kids to learn windsurfing. Early in the morning from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. The gentle breeze is perfect for kids aged 7 and more...The huge shallow area and warm waters make it particularly safe and a lot of fun for them as well. Moreover seeing the little locals riding like crazy will surely motivate them!
