The spot on Karpathos
Karpathos is a paradise for wind addicts: Chicken Bay for beginners and Gun Bay for intermediates and experts. Here, everyone gets his or her moneys worth.
Gun Bay is a true high-wind spot where you can let off steam and forget the rest of the world. The flat water near the shore is perfect for practicing jibes and the spit off the coast guarantees your safety. Those who are looking for a real challenge can surf out of Gun Bay to Paradise Bay - a bay which definitely deserves its name. Here the wind is about 1-2 Beaufort stronger and the perfectly flat water delivers superb blasting conditions.

Due to an 80 metre wide shallow water area, Chicken Bay offers ideal conditions for beginners, intermediates and freestylers.

Wind and waves
The wind comes from the north-east and blows cross offshore from the left. The high wind in Gun Bay creates a 1 metre wind wave after 300 metres which is suitable for both jumping novices and experts.
In Chicken Bay the wind also blows cross offshore but with 1-2 Beaufort less force.

The centers
Club Mistral Karpathos operates two centres. They are both located in Afiartis, an area in the southern part of the island located only a few minutes from the airport. 
The main centre is in the “Gun Bay” in the same building as “Club Anemos”, a taverna and bar. The day starts with a huge breakfast selection. At lunchtime and for dinner our chef pampers the guests with daily changing specialties. Our welcoming bar is ideal for parties or relaxation, and even non-windsurfers can enjoy themselves lying on sunbeds on a wind-protected terrace. Those who still have some energy left can play a match on our volleyball court. As a new highlight we offer half-day climbing courses.

The second centre is located in the "Chicken Bay", also known as “Speed Lagoon”. From the main base you can windsurf to Chicken Bay and share a common experience with other windsurfers of all levels. You can freely switch between the two centres at any time and as often as you like. The bays in front of the two centres are constantly monitored and two rescue boats are available on call.

Kids
With its warm, shallow water area, protected by a spit and a sandy beach, Chicken Bay offers ideal conditions for kids. The centre provides special kids equipemt and wetsuits and our experienced instructors guarantee a lot of fun on the water. The tuiton time we keep flexible depending on the wind conditions.
