This summer, the Club Mistral team on Gran Canaria will concentrate even more on windsurfing for children and young people.
Several weeks have already passed since we introduced the "OCEAN kIDs" programme, offering not only windsurfing courses but also boogie boarding and kayaking and also general familiarization with the ocean and waves and environmental protection.

The advantage of this programme: when conditions are "difficult", for instance because there are too many waves or the wind is not constant,  we do not have to put the youngsters off till later but can make good use of the time and integrate other elements into the lessons that also foster group cohesion and shared experiences. Next summer we will offer the "OCEAN kIDs" programme - conceived as a pilot project this year permitting us to gather initial experience - at all centres on Gran Canaria as a holiday programme. We have already been able to use some ideas for our general kids' tuition… and we are confident that we will gain even more inspiration from this experience.

Moritz (9) and Nico (11), Claus' two sons, are also committed windsurfers and are thus the best possible advertisement for our kids' courses.

When you gather your first speed impressions with a wind force of 7 and the new kids' sail from NORTH SAILS, the "SUPER NATURAL" in sizes 2.5 and 3.3, in the flatwater bay of Salinas de Arinaga, you can be sure of being the centre of attention. Also on the water next to you is another group of 10-12 year olds, also practising hard; some of them have already competed in their first big event, the "Second Reef" contest in Pozo, held after the World Cup.
