Name : Juan Carlos del Rio
Born : 1975
Team member since : 2002
Prior Club Mistral Destinations : El Yaque, Tarifa
This is Juan Carlos' 4th season with Skyriders in El Yaque. Juan is a Venezuelan, and originally hails from Caracas.
Juan liked El Yaque right from the start and has been living there since 2001. He started off by organizing mountain bike tours, before commencing kitesurfing activities.
Juan Carlos always has a smile on his face and a very big heart. We appreciate his friendly, helpful manner, which also makes him very popular with guests, team and friends.

Kitesurfing has become his great passion. He is undoubtedly one of our most experienced and best kitesurfing instructors by far. He knows El Yaque and the spot like the back of his hand and is always able to provide good tips. He has been a Level II IKO Instructor for more than a year.
He is still highly motivated and enthusiastic when holding his courses.
One small incident must, however, be mentioned in this connection …. a guest once asked (with a smile on his face) whether there was any chance of his girl-friend receiving tuition from a "less" handsome and charming instructor…
In summer 2004, Juan Carlos worked for our Club Mistral & Skyriders centre in Tarifa. Here, too, all the guests, especially the female ones, were extremely enthusiastic about his expertise and talent as an instructor and his pleasant, charming and humorous manner.
Juan Carlos returned to El Yaque after his season in Tarifa and everyone was very happy to have him back in the team again. Juan Carlos lives in El Yaque with his wife, Dara, and (we're giving away a secret here) is soon to become a happy father. Juan Carlos generally prefers to spend his evening quietly, with his family; however, whenever he does attend the odd party or celebration, things can get pretty jolly after a few "ron seccos"!
We wish Juan and his family all the best and hope that he will remain with us at Club Mistral for a long time to come!
