Our New Year´s team member of the month is Marko Berger, who is our center manager in beautiful Preá, Brazil.



He´s been working for us for already 3 years and as he´s one of the most reliable centre managers of Club Mistral and an almost all-knowing, highly professional kitesurfing instructor, he more than deserves to get the pole position in our team member of the month list 2010.

Before Marko came to Club Mistral he was always away in the windiest places all over the world, travelling, kiting and collecting experience in the whole water sports business.
For almost 10 years he spent the summer seasons on Fehmarn, one of the biggest German islands and known as one of the best water sports spots of Germany. There he not only worked in a kite shop but also did his first steps as a kitesurfing instructor.
However it dragged him slowly but surely further away from home and so he found himself in El Yaque, Venezuela, where he spent a few winter seasons working for the Sail Fast Shop and giving kitesurfing lessons.

For Marko, who has always been super sportive and a very active person, it has been kind of sure that he wants to turn his hobby into a career and to live a life close to the water, close to the beach, far away from rather cold and grey Germany.



When Club Mistral came up with the idea to open a brand new center in Preá, a destination which was by that time still untouched and far away from mass tourism, this was a chance for Marko he just had to grab. From that time on he´s been giving everything for this center and he surely is one of the main reasons why this Club Mistral destination has developed the way it did.
You could call the center Marko´s baby – super motivated and always full-power he tries everything to make it become bigger and more beautiful and to make even more people come and enjoy the Brazilian lifestyle and the breathtaking kite- and windsurfing conditions which can be found over there.
Doing all this in a country like Brazil needs a great endurance and a very, very long wind – and a passion which keeps one motivated, no matter how hard the circumstances are. All these are just some of the good qualities Marko has. Therefore nobody is really surprised about the success of Club Mistral & Skyriders Preá.

However not only job-wise Brazil was the jackpot for Marko but also love-wise: 2 years ago he found in Jerri the love of his life, Lairla – another, or probably the main reason for Marko to stay in this country…

Apart from kitesurfing, Marko´s biggest hobby and passion is photographing and he can easily call himself a semi-professional. As a person Marko is just great. Not only our guests love him because he´s always friendly and calm and seems to always be in a good mood… but also the whole Club Mistral Team and everybody who knows him really appreciate the way he is and his outstanding personality. We definitely don´t want to miss him anymore and we all hope to spend many more years together with Marko.
