We would like to kick off the year 2005 with a very well-known team member who has been with us for four years now - Swiss national Roger Reiser.

Roger joined Mistral four years ago after working previously for Intersport Switzerland in Cyprus as a surfing and mountain-biking guide and, in winter, as a fitness and snowboard instructor. He also organised weekend adventure tours for this centre, including rafting tours, bungee jumping, mountain biking and snowboard outings, etc.

He loves to stir people's enthusiasm for sports and help them achieve outstanding performance levels. However, one of his passion has not been topped by anything else: windsurfing.

This passion led him to Club Mistral in early 2001, and he spent his first season in Italy. Afterwards, he immediately went to Dahab, together with his best friend Simon.

Windsurfing is clearly more than just a job for him - it is his life, his passion. Being out on the water is his greatest delight. Funnily enough, you won't see him in the water without a surfing or kitesurfing board. He can also not think of anything he likes better than teaching this fantastic sport to others. Roger is appreciated by many as a stellar instructor. His quiet, motivating approach and his well-structured class helps many guests achieve rapid learning success.

He took up kitesurfing 1.5 years ago and has become an enthusiastic and excellent kitesurfing instructor in the meantime…. although he still prefers windsurfing in strong winds.

Roger's good mood is always infectious for his environment and he always gives the impression that he is relaxed and not easily upset. Everybody feels great in his company. He is extremely good-natured and always thinks positive thoughts.

His quirk is that he always has a catchy tune for the day which he continually sings to himself, even if it is only a single line because he unfortunately does not remember the rest of the lyrics - thus driving everybody crazy! He is attracted to music, but not so much to dancing - you will never find him on the dance floor.

His favourite place is Maui in Hawaii. For this reason, he has used his long vacation both last year and this year to fly there. And it was certainly not the last time that he stayed there. To his mind, this is the place where people live for his passion like nowhere else in the world.

And his great dream is to receive a reservation for his centre from a Swedish "topless volleyball team"! This is a dream he has cherished for a long time and certainly shares with many other surfers… we will do our best and try to organise such a booking!

Nevertheless, this wish has doubtlessly moved to the backburner since he met Britt. She shares his passion, his life and his management tasks at the St. Lucia centre, and we would like to thank her for the help she has provided us for this wonderful report!

Roger has become a very important associate over the years, and we would like to thank him for the great work he has performed. It's good that you are a member of the Club Mistral team!
