Name : Britt Krüger
Born : 1969
Team member since : 2003
Prior Club Mistral Destinations : Safaga, Ras Sudr, Dahab
Britt was pursuing a dream when she booked a windsurfing course with Club Mistral in Dahab in spring 2003. Originally, she only wanted to get away from rainy Hamburg and finally stand on a windsurfing board for once. The windsurfing course was a success and it very quickly became clear that Britt had a great talent for this sport, so she soon moved on from the beginners' course and could be seen planing away, with harness and foot straps and well and truly in the grips of the windsurfing bug by the end of the week.
Britt is a true native of Hamburg; she has a cheerful disposition and is very outgoing. She has always done a lot of sport and played in the hockey national league before joining Club Mistral.
At that time she was still working for the mail catalogue firm Otto in Hamburg, where she headed the marketing department. When a corporate event trip to Cyprus was cancelled, Britt decided, on the spur of the moment, to take another holiday and once again ended up in Dahab, only about 6 weeks after her first windsurfing trip. Her windsurfing level increased rapidly and Britt also became more and more friendly with Roger, our windsurfing instructor. The decision to leave the mail catalogue firm Otto, give up her office job and swap her business outfit for a bikini and flip-flops had been taken.
Roger was given the opportunity to work as Centre Manager in Ras Sudr. Britt visited him there for 6 weeks and, after successfully performing her first power jibes, she applied to Club Mistral for a job as guest care/tour assistant.
Britt tried out kitesurfing for the first time in Ras Sudr. Taner´smoonlight tuition and a very weak wind made her start difficult, but by the end of her short stay in Ras Sudr she had no problems sailing upwind.
She then returned to Dahab, where Roger stood in as Centre Manager while the latter was on holidays and Britt ran the office.
In Dahab, Britt made considerable progress in honing her windsurfing skills even further, preferring to spend her time, if possible, darting across the lagoon with her 69 litre waveboard in a strong wind.
After an eventful holiday on Maui, Britt and Roger went to St. Lucia in winter to manage the Club Mistral centre there.
When Roger had a small kitesurfing accident, Britt stepped in without further ado and took over the job of providing kitesurfing tuition in a highly committed manner, thus becoming a dedicated kitesurfing instructor. Britt is very well organized and an excellent instructor. She knows how to help her pupils achieve a fast, reliable learning curve and to convey the pleasures of water sports to them.
Her kitesurfing and windsurfing level is meanwhile very high, too:
Kitesurfing: unhooked raileys/nice back and forward loops/great jumps
Windsurfing: power jibes with a 69 litre Beast jumps/basic wave riding
Britt's great hobby is photography; you can admire some of her pictures on her private web page at www.imaginebybritt.net.ms.
Britt, you are an enrichment to our team; we wish you all the best and hope that you will stay with Club Mistral for a long time to come.
