Name : Sonja Weeres
Born : 1976
Team member since : 2002
Prior Club Mistral Destinations : St. Lucia, Alacati
Our Team Member of the Month for October is Sonja Weeres. Originally from Düsseldorf, Sonja has not lived in her home town for the past 10 years now.
Sonja's dream was always to live at the beach and travel abroad. She fulfilled that dream long before she joined Club Mistral.
As a tour representative for LTU, Sonja spent some time in Egypt, before going to the Maldives, where she lived and worked for almost 3 years.
It was on the Maldives that Sonja met Chris; (almost) without hesitating, she left for a season in Costa Rica with him, before Chris started working for Club Mistral on the Cape Verde islands.
In 2001, Sonja took up employment with Club Mistral, too. She spent her first season with Chris in St. Lucia. She found it easy to attend to our guests after her many years of experience in that field with LTU. Sonja enjoys dealing with people and performs her duties as our guest care/tour assistant in a conscientious and very committed manner.
Sonja and Chris have been in Alacati since 2002, where Sonja is responsible for the entire office organisation and guest care at the centre.
There's no doubt about it: Sonja is the heart and soul of the centre. It is Sonja's loving attention to detail that gives the centre that special touch and her relaxed manner that coaxes a smile even from the most uptight guest on a no-wind day.
Sonja's open, friendly manner makes her especially popular with our guests and the team. She is always ready to listen to others and creates a pleasant, positive atmosphere at the centre.
Apart from living and working in foreign countries and at the beach and besides her partner, Chris, Sonja has another great passion. She is crazy about animals, especially dogs.
Not only does Sonja take the greatest care of her Labrador, Jack, who has accompanied her wherever she went for years, Sonja also tends to and takes care of stray dogs in Alacati. She even gives them a temporary home. According to Chris, currently about 7 dogs are in Sonja's care; this involves taking them to the vet, if necessary, and looking after them until they are well again and have found a new home!
We greatly appreciate you yourself and your friendly, natural manner, Sonja, and hope to have you in the team for a long time to come. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to Club Mistral, in particular for the warm-hearted way you look after our guests!
